David Cromer, director of The Band’s Visit on Broadway, producer Orin Wolf, and Eran Kolirin, who directed the film that inspired the musical, talk about the process of turning a film into a Broadway hit. Wolf flew to Israel after seeing the original film to convince Korilin to let him adapt it for the stage. The Band's Visit tells the story of an Egyptian police band that is mistakenly sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning, these unlikely travelers are taken in by locals, and their lives become intertwined in unexpected ways. The Band's Visit is playing at the Ethel Barrymore Theater.
